Setup notes, wallet basics and release details for HBAR Wallet.

Getting started

  1. Download the build for your system from the Downloads page: Windows (.exe), macOS (.dmg) or Linux (.AppImage).
  2. Install it and open the wallet.
  3. Follow the on-screen setup to create or import your account, and store your recovery details offline.
  4. Explore the five areas below. Most people begin with HBAR, then add staking, tokens, NFTs and connected apps as they need them.

Wallet areas

  • HBAR. Send and receive HBAR without leaving the main view. Your balance and latest transactions stay in sight while you work, instead of being spread across separate screens.
  • Tokens. Tokens live next to HBAR rather than behind another layer, so checking a holding or moving it takes the same steps as everything else.
  • NFTs. NFTs are laid out for comfortable browsing, apart from balances and transfers, so neither one crowds the other.
  • Staking. Staking is built into the wallet’s regular flow instead of being tucked into a secondary corner.
  • dApps. Connected apps, docs and your wallet activity sit close together, without turning the main window into a maze.

Security basics

These habits apply to any wallet, and they matter most.

  • Keep your recovery phrase or private key offline, and never type it into a website, chat or form.
  • Nobody who is genuinely helping you will ask for your recovery phrase.
  • Download the wallet only from the Downloads page of this site, and check the address in your browser first.
  • Read the details of every transaction and every app connection before you approve it.
  • Keep your operating system up to date, and install updates to the wallet when they are published.
  • Treat unexpected links, airdrops and “support” messages with suspicion.

Release notes

Release notes are listed here as builds are published. The current focus is the desktop wallet for Windows, macOS and Linux; iOS and Android versions are planned for 2026.

If something isn’t covered here, the Support page shows where to ask.
